Capstone Change Project Resources
An in-depth evaluation of the clinical site for the proposed capstone change project is important to determine the required resources. After collaborating with my preceptor, we evaluated important resources required to implement the change project on the practicum site. Consequently, the resources required for the project include the following.
Human resources
The implementation requires adequate personnel, particularly skilled and adequately trained staff, to implement the proposed change. Those to train the nursing staff on aspects of sterilization and decontamination, the working of the various dressing equipment, and policy development to meet or align with the organizational needs and goals (Bellot et al., 2024). Human resources will be critical even in the integration of the proposed change project after the pilot implementation for long-term sustainability.
Financial resources
Sufficient funding is imperative for the successful implementation of the proposed change project. Financial resources will be critical to cater to various expenses that include integration of novel technologies, staff training to integrate the new approaches, and possible infrastructural adjustments to align with the protocols, guidelines, and policy measures emanating from the proposed change (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2022). Getting a budget for these aspects will ensure a seamless transition and sustainable implementation of the proposed change project.
Physical Resources
The project will also require physical resources or infrastructure like workshop and seminar rooms, audio-visual equipment, materials for nursing staff like notebooks and pens, and associated stationery. The physical resources will help to implement the proposed changes and support the personnel in various tasks and activities (Diamond‐Caravella et al., 2022). These resources will also assist in improving interactions and planning, as well as communication with all stakeholders.
Technological Resources
The proposed change project will integrate the latest technologies in sterilization and decontamination efforts and measures in the facility. Again, the implementation may require system upgrades to improve processes and other aspects of technology (Bellot et al., 2024). Imperatively, the project team and leader will collaborate with health information technology (HIT) vendors in upgrading the system to leverage the proposed technologies to prevent and control nosocomial infections associated with burn wounds.
