Nursing Education Practicum Goals (Topic 6)
Nursing Education Practicum Goals:

1.      Facilitate Effective Learning in Dialysis Education
By the end of the practicum, I will independently design and facilitate at least two evidence-based clinical teaching sessions for nursing students on dialysis care. There will be engaging examples, case-based talks, and methods for educating patients during these meetings. Success will be judged by how well at least 80% of students show they know how to do dialysis care during return demonstrations and by feedback from the instructor (Zhou et al., 2024).

2.      Enhance Learner Development and Professional Socialization
During the training, I will help nursing students improve their communication, teamwork, and professionalism by mentoring them during dialysis clinical rotations. Reflective writing, teacher observation, and student comments will all be used to measure progress. By the end of the practice, students will have shown they have accomplished their goals when they regularly work with people from different fields and speak clearly with patients and staff (Calaguas, 2022).

3.      Develop Curriculum and Teaching Materials
By the middle of the practicum, I will create or change one complete lesson plan and the teaching resources that go with it (including PowerPoint slides, learning goals, and assessment tools) that are all about renal nursing. My preceptor will go over these materials and verify that they are clear, match the learning goals, and are based on evidence. Successful delivery of the lesson plan and approval from the preceptor will show that the task is complete (Ea et al., 2021).

4.      Implement Student Assessment and Evaluation Strategies
To objectively evaluate students’ clinical abilities throughout dialysis treatments, I will develop and use at least one student assessment instrument prior to the practicum’s conclusion (such as a performance checklist or rubric). Comparing pre- and post-assessment findings and examining preceptor comments about the tool’s dependability and instructional usefulness will be used to gauge effectiveness (Walter, 2024).

5.      Engage in Professional Growth and Reflective Practice as a Nurse Educator
I will do reflective evaluations of my teaching performance and participate in at least two educator meetings or in-service sessions during the practicum as part of my ongoing professional development. By the conclusion of the practicum, written reflections demonstrating growth in teaching confidence, student engagement, and evidence-based instructional strategies will be used to gauge success (Calaguas, 2022).

Evaluation of Nursing Education Practicum Goals (Topic 16)
Review the goals you wrote in Topic 6 and write a reflection for each one of them. Include whether or not you met your goals and provide some detail about the process.
