Nursing history provides valuable lessons to guide current and future practice. An appreciation of the contributions of past and current nurses enables practitioners to uphold the duty to apply the nursing code while embracing new challenges and opportunities. This continuous reflection ensures that nursing remains a science and an art grounded in caring and innovation.

This reflection underlines the significance of nursing history, with great insights from a live nurse. Advancing the nursing discipline is based on understanding history, EBP, and leadership.
