NRS 465 Week 10 Benchmark – Capstone Project Change Proposal Dissemination and Reflection
My presentation attracted the attention of nursing staff, physicians, administrators, and patient safety officers at my practicum site. According to the proposal, nursing staff were responsible for implementing the rounding protocol (Considine et al., 2023). On the other hand, physicians were obligated to provide medical oversight and motivation to the nursing staff. In addition, administrators oversaw the allocation and integration of essential resources while patient safety officers monitored and assessed the program’s efficacy.
I kept my language professional and straightforward during my presentation so the audience could comprehend. The three main components of my presentation were the clinical problem statement, proposal objective, and implementation strategy (López-Soto et al., 2023). This framework ensured that the audience could follow along comfortably and helped to disseminate key points from the proposal.
The audience responded well to the proposal, with some individuals even appreciating the effort put into it, given its detailing and importance. However, some questions were noted concerning the pragmatism of the implementation plan, majorly around questions like when precisely the personnel training is and what resources are to be involved in enforcement. Some concerns noted were the need to assess and use the results of the pilot to try and improve the process before its adoption (Hakvoort et al., 2021). The audience’s awareness of falls and their preconceived notions about the impact of hourly rounding could have influenced the presentation.
My professional practice will be significantly influenced by this experience of working in interdisciplinary teams. Presenting to a diverse group of healthcare professionals emphasized the value of fluent, cross-disciplinary communication. Hakvoort et al. (2021) emphasize the significance of evidence-based practice and the need to ensure that clinical decisions are supported by rigorous research. Thanks to this experience, I now have a much better understanding of the mindset and goals of stakeholders. These insights will guide my future healthcare endeavors, highlighting the significance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving positive outcomes.
