It has emerged as a way of reducing healthcare disparity between urban and remote areas. This project seeks to outline a proposal for implementing a telemedicine project for the healthcare organization.
Proposal
There is significant advancement in the world of telemedicine seeking to offer more access to patients. It entails the utilization of telecommunication technology to offer healthcare services to patients remotely. The objective of this technology is to reduce the gap between developed areas with amenities and remote areas (Lin et al., 2021). As a result, there is the enhancement of quality care and reduction of medical expenses. The implementation of this new process seeks to help the organization offer more quality services to its patients. It is important to understand that a healthcare system is largely reliant on the distance and time patients move to access medical attention (Maria et al., 2022). There has been advancement of technologies that address geographical barriers and enhance healthcare accessibility (Rouidi et al., 2022). Telemedicine is a new process for the organization and will seek to enhance the accessibility of healthcare services. The implementation of this new technology is critical for the organization to reach the rural areas where patients might find it difficult to access healthcare patients. Therefore, it is proposed that the organization implement telemedicine.

The healthcare organization and healthcare sector have been experiencing increasing healthcare costs. Therefore, telemedicine can enable improved coordination between primary care doctors and specialists. The provision of remote healthcare is critical for patient follow-up care. These illustrate some of the reasons why telemedicine can be implemented in the healthcare organization.
Implementation Plan
The telemedicine system involves various components for proper functioning. For instance, there is a need for infrastructure setup so that the system can be adopted in remote areas. Some of the infrastructure for the system includes internet connectivity, data management and the ability to executive video conferencing. There is also the need for platform development which includes the formulation of a platform characterized by medical records management, remote diagnostics, and appointment planning. The proper functioning of the telemedicine system requires that the healthcare organization trains its professionals to execute and operate the telemedicine platforms. They also need to understand the best practices for tele-consultations.
The implementation of the telemedicine systems will follow a specific implementation plan characterized by specific steps as illustrated below.
Step One: Needs Assessment
It is important to perform a detailed needs assessment to determine the target remote areas to deploy the systems. The assessment should also include determining the healthcare needs and infrastructure deficiencies present. Additionally, there should be an outline of project goals and critical performance indicators. The needs assessment stage also requires the project manager to formulate a comprehensive project plan that encompasses the project timelines, budget forecasts, and resource distribution.
Stage Two: Infrastructure Organization and Development
It is important to outline the infrastructure that will enable the effective deployment and functioning of the telemedicine system. These include setting up the appropriate infrastructure in remote locations and providing constant connectivity. The organization should also work with its technology partners to ensure the creation of a telemedicine system that is safe and user-friendly. Lastly, there should be requisite testing to ensure proper working and integration with respective supporting technologies.

The organization should work with all stakeholders such as regulatory agencies and legal experts to improve and deal with ethical and legal issues concerning telemedicine.
Telemedicine should be incorporated into healthcare organizations to ensure the provision of quality and safe care to patients. Therefore, it is an urgent issue and should be completed within nine months.

The cost of the project with involve both monetary and non-monetary resources as shown in Table 1 below.

The initial costs of the system will be $80,000 as shown in Table 1. The expenses entail the acquisition of appropriate equipment, installation, and employee training costs. There are also the operations costs for the system. These include the wages of two employees who will be tasked with the smooth running of the system. There are also air transportation costs when the doctors will be necessitated to travel to attend to patients. The non-monetary costs include the time used for researching the appropriate telemedicine system and the risk taken that it will be beneficial to the patients and healthcare professionals. These are the main costs of the proposal for the telemedicine project. The project is expected to have value for money. For instance, a study by Langabeer et al. (2016) established that a telehealth patient spends less money than a conventional patient. It was determined that they used an estimated $167 which was $103 less than other patients. It is evident that the project will have value for money.
Evaluation
The telemedicine project will be evaluated to determine its effectiveness. The indicators of success will be patient satisfaction, cost reduction, and health outcomes. It will also be evaluated using patient feedback and the experiences of the pertinent healthcare provider.
Conclusion
The impact of the telemedicine system cannot be understated as it entails connecting healthcare services to patients in remote locations. The healthcare organization can implement this project to enhance health access, address geographical limitations, promote patient outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs. The telemedicine project underscores the commitment to promote healthcare access.
